What LoloBuy confirms—and what still needs checking
LoloBuy's public website describes warehouse quality inspection, inspection feedback and global shipping. Its official app-store listings describe a cross-border shopping platform for discovering and purchasing products from China, with payment, multiple-language or currency support and international shipping. Those statements support a practical workflow: retain the seller page, compare the warehouse evidence with the order, then review the live parcel routes offered for a Dutch address.
They do not prove that every item can enter the Netherlands, that a particular shipping line is permanently available or that a product price includes Dutch VAT, customs duty and the parcel carrier's handling charge. They also do not establish a universal delivery time or customs result. Check the current LoloBuy interface for order-specific services and prices, and use Dutch Customs guidance for import treatment.
Save the seller evidence before paying
A product spreadsheet is a discovery tool, not the complete seller record. Save the original marketplace URL, seller name, listing title, exact colour, size or model, quantity, displayed price and domestic-China delivery terms. Capture the page after selecting the actual variation. A dated record lets you compare the submitted order, warehouse photographs and delivered item even if the listing later changes or disappears.
Make the evidence fit the category. For clothing, keep the seller's measurement chart and the measurements you plan to verify. For shoes, record foot or insole length instead of relying only on an EU size label. For electronics, retain the model, plug, voltage, battery specification and included accessories. For toys, cosmetics, batteries, wireless equipment or protective gear, identify the required safety and compliance information before purchase. Seller availability is not proof of Dutch admissibility.

Use QC for visible decisions, not compliance claims
When warehouse inspection feedback appears, compare identity, variation, quantity, visible condition, labels and included parts with the saved order. Focus on evidence that could change your decision: a named measurement, model number, connector, sole shape, print alignment, damaged edge or missing accessory. If an important detail is not shown and an appropriate inspection option is available, ask for one focused image or measurement rather than unrelated extra photos.
Warehouse QC has limits. Lighting changes colour, camera perspective changes proportions and packaging conceals surfaces. A photograph cannot establish chemical composition, battery capacity, radio conformity, electrical safety, authenticity or valid CE documentation. Decide whether to approve, seek clarification, or use the return or exchange process currently available under the seller and platform terms. Download the inspection evidence before parcel submission.
Build the landed cost from separate components
Use four layers instead of one guessed total. The product layer includes the item price, seller delivery within China, payment conversion and checkout charges. The warehouse layer contains the inspection, repacking or protection services actually selected. The international layer starts when the completed parcel has measured weight and dimensions: packaging, chargeable weight, route price and protection terms. The Netherlands layer contains import VAT, customs duty and the parcel carrier's handling fee.
Dutch Customs states that some costs are known before delivery while VAT, duty, excise and handling can be calculated later. Each carrier sets its handling charge for making the declaration; Customs does not set that amount. Ask the actual delivery company rather than copying a fee from an unrelated parcel. Compare live LoloBuy routes using the same finished carton and postcode, and record the quote date, dimensions, chargeable weight, restrictions, tracking scope and compensation terms.

Calculate Dutch VAT on the correct base
The Dutch Customs page updated on 18 August 2026 says the usual VAT rate is 21%, while certain goods such as books and periodicals use 9%. Do not apply the reduced rate to a product simply because it seems educational or low-cost; classify the actual goods. How VAT is collected can depend on the transaction and import arrangement, so retain both checkout and carrier documents.
The calculation base is broader than the product sticker price. Dutch Customs explains that VAT is calculated over the product price plus shipping, possible insurance and customs duty. For a parcel where the webshop or carrier has already collected an amount, compare the invoice and import document before paying again. Keep VAT separate from the carrier's handling charge so a service fee is not described as tax.
A useful worksheet has columns for the genuine product price, domestic delivery, international freight, insurance, duty, VAT base, VAT charged and handling fee. Replace estimates with the final statement after delivery. This method will not predict every assessment, but it prevents the common error of applying VAT only to the merchandise price.
Understand the €3 duty per product category
Since 1 July 2026, Dutch Customs says consignments worth up to and including €150 no longer receive the former customs-duty exemption. A temporary €3 duty applies per product category. Its examples show one pair of trousers plus one phone case as two categories and €6, while five USB cables in one order form one category and €3. A wool jumper and a cotton jumper can be different categories because composition matters.
The European Commission describes the same rule as classification-based rather than a charge on every physical unit. Therefore, do not assume one parcel always means €3, or that each duplicate unit always adds another €3. The declarant's classification of the actual contents determines the lines. For consignments above €150, Dutch Customs says percentage duties may depend on the total costs, material and origin; the flat method is not the calculation for that parcel.
Consolidation can still reduce duplicated packaging or transport, but a mixed carton can contain more classifications and compliance requirements. Splitting can create extra carrier fees and does not lawfully remove VAT or duty. Compare the finished quotes and accurate declaration lines. Never undervalue, misdescribe or artificially divide goods to avoid charges.
Check restrictions and safety before the warehouse stage
Dutch Customs warns consumers not to order counterfeit articles, tobacco, medicines, narcotics, weapons or ammunition through foreign webshops. Art and antiques can require permission. Animal products, food, plants, flowers, bulbs and seeds can face specific controls, while products made from protected species are also restricted. This is not a complete classification for every item, but it is enough to show why a seller accepting payment is not an import approval.
EU guidance says consumer goods sold in the Union must comply with product-safety rules. CE marking applies to covered categories such as toys, electrical and electronic equipment, some batteries and machinery, personal protective equipment and medical devices; it is not a universal quality badge. A CE logo visible in a seller or warehouse image does not independently prove valid testing, documentation or an EU responsible operator. Check the exact category and Safety Gate recall records before payment.
A warehouse can confirm a visible model or label, but it cannot legalise a restricted product. If required documents cannot be supported, treat that as a purchase decision before international shipping rather than a customs problem to solve after dispatch.

Handle payment requests, tracking and returns carefully
After dispatch, save both the LoloBuy parcel reference and the carrier tracking number. Platform statuses may describe purchasing, storage or dispatch; carrier scans describe collection, export, customs presentation and final delivery. When tracking pauses, identify which party currently holds the parcel before contacting support. A delivery estimate is planning information, not a guarantee.
Dutch Customs says it does not send consumers a payment request for the €3 duty. If a message asks for VAT, duty or redelivery money, open the postal or courier company's official website yourself and verify the tracking number there. Do not rely on the message link. The webshop may collect costs at checkout, or the parcel carrier may collect them before delivery, so keep the invoice and payment evidence.
The Dutch Customs FAQ also states that, for returned parcels valued below €150 under the rules introduced on 1 July 2026, paid VAT and duty are not refunded through that process; handling-fee questions belong with the carrier. For parcels above €150, the carrier may be able to request invalidation of the import declaration. Recheck the current guidance before returning anything, preserve proof of export and do not assume that a seller refund automatically reverses border charges.
Close the order with a reusable evidence file
Photograph the unopened box, shipping label, seals and visible damage. Record the opening when the contents are valuable or the carton is compromised. Compare each item with the saved seller page, selected variation and warehouse QC evidence. Replace every estimate with the final product, warehouse, freight, duty, VAT and carrier amounts. Keep the customs and return documents until relevant claim periods have ended.
A useful LoloBuy Netherlands review separates the seller's product, LoloBuy's purchasing and warehouse role, the international carrier and Dutch border processing. State the date, parcel facts and outcome actually observed. Remove names, addresses, payment references and full tracking numbers before sharing screenshots. One parcel is an anecdote, not a platform-wide delivery rate.
No identifiable Netherlands-specific customer-review sample was used here. The public reviews found during research were too small and did not document a Dutch parcel well enough to support conclusions about delivery times, customs results or satisfaction. The official sources support the workflow and current import rules; live prices, routes, service terms and the outcome of any individual shipment still require direct verification.
