01

Start with what LoloBuy actually publishes

LoloBuy's official Google Play listing describes a cross-border shopping platform with shopping guidance, payments, language and currency support, and international shipping. It showed an update date of 20 September 2026 when checked. Apple's official listing showed version 1.0.7 in its public history on 27 September. These records help establish the published service and current app trail; they do not prove that every item, route or feature is available to every Swiss postcode.

No official material reviewed for this guide publishes one permanent Switzerland freight tariff, a guaranteed delivery time or a promise that every parcel quote includes Swiss VAT and carrier clearance. Treat the live route screen as evidence for one packed parcel on one date. Before payment, confirm destination coverage, accepted contents, chargeable weight, declaration details, tracking, compensation and exactly which taxes or service fees are included.

02

Save the seller evidence before ordering

Keep the original seller URL, seller name, listing title, chosen size, colour or model, quantity, product price, domestic-China delivery terms and capture date. Save checkout and payment confirmations. A spreadsheet is useful for finding and comparing products, but the current seller page and transaction record are the evidence of what you asked LoloBuy to buy. If the page changes, your saved copy makes a variation dispute easier to explain.

Record category-specific facts. For clothes and shoes, save measurements rather than relying on a letter size. For electronics, note model, plug, input voltage, battery, radio functions and included accessories. For toys, cosmetics, personal protective equipment, watches and wireless devices, check Swiss requirements before purchase. A seller claim, CE logo or warehouse photograph does not by itself establish Swiss conformity.

Lista di controllo funzionante

✓Save the original seller link and capture date
✓Record the exact variation, quantity and paid price
✓Keep measurements, model numbers and accessories
✓Check Swiss rules for the product category
✓Treat spreadsheet entries as research leads, not guarantees
03

Use warehouse QC for visible questions

Compare available QC evidence with the saved order: product identity, quantity, colour, visible condition, labels and included parts. Ask focused questions that can change the dispatch decision. Is a measurement consistent with the seller chart? Is the model number readable? Is the correct connector present? Is a seam damaged or a print visibly misaligned? If an important view is absent and an appropriate inspection option is offered, request that exact view rather than a generic recheck.

QC has clear limits. Lighting changes colour, perspective alters proportions and packaging hides surfaces. Photographs cannot prove electrical safety, battery capacity, chemical composition, radio conformity, authenticity or legal importability. Use visible evidence to approve, clarify or use the current seller and platform return process. Download the images and decision notes before submitting the parcel.

04

Build the landed cost in four layers

Separate the calculation into product, warehouse, international freight and Swiss import layers. Product cost includes the item, seller delivery inside China, currency conversion and checkout charges. Warehouse cost contains only inspection, protection or repacking services actually selected. International freight depends on packed dimensions, actual and chargeable weight, route restrictions, tracking and protection terms. The Swiss layer can include import VAT, any remaining customs or excise duty and the carrier's customs-clearance service fee.

Compare routes using the same carton, contents and Swiss postcode. Record the quote date, packed dimensions, billed weight, compensation terms and tax wording. Consolidation can remove repeated base charges, but a larger carton can increase dimensional weight or cross a route band. Mark each figure as quoted, paid, estimated or final. Replace estimates with the carrier invoice and official assessment decision after import.

Lista di controllo funzionante

✓Separate product, warehouse, freight and import costs
✓Compare routes with the same parcel and postcode
✓Record final dimensions and chargeable weight
✓Keep state tax and carrier fees on separate lines
✓Replace estimates with final import evidence
05

Calculate Swiss import VAT from the assessment basis

The Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security states that import VAT is normally 8.1% of the assessment basis. A reduced 2.6% rate applies to specified goods such as food, books, magazines and medicines. The invoice or purchase contract normally establishes the item value. Costs up to the destination in Switzerland, including forwarding or postage, and any import duties are added. Foreign VAT can be excluded when it is shown separately on the invoice.

This means that multiplying only the seller price by 8.1% can understate the result. Build the basis from the documented goods consideration plus relevant costs to the Swiss destination and any duty, then apply the correct category rate. Foreign-currency values are converted using the official sell rate from the relevant preceding trading day. Customs may estimate value when documents are missing or doubtful, so preserve the invoice and a clear contents list.

06

Understand the CHF 5 tax rule without calling it a fixed parcel limit

FOCBS does not levy import-tax amounts of CHF 5 or less. Its current guidance says this corresponds to an assessment basis of CHF 62 at 8.1% or CHF 193 at 2.6%. These are results of the tax calculation, not universal shopping allowances. Freight to the destination and other elements of the assessment basis count, and a mixed parcel may contain goods at different rates.

Do not confuse this postal or courier rule with the CHF 150 traveller allowance for goods personally carried across the border. An online purchase delivered by post is assessed under the mail and courier rules. Also check whether Swiss VAT is already collected by a taxable mail-order company or platform: Swiss rules can make registered sellers or platforms responsible for domestic VAT. The order-specific invoice and customs treatment matter more than a generic 'tax included' label.

07

Zero industrial tariffs do not mean zero import costs

Switzerland abolished customs duties on industrial products from 1 January 2024, regardless of origin. SECO says this covers industrial goods in tariff chapters 25–97 and applies to private importers as well as businesses and carriers. For an ordinary industrial product that remains in Switzerland, preferential proof of origin is generally no longer needed merely to obtain a zero Swiss import-duty rate.

The change did not abolish import VAT, customs declarations, correct tariff classification or weight reporting. Agricultural products can still attract duties calculated by weight, and excise or special rules can apply to categories such as alcohol and tobacco. Carrier clearance charges also remain possible. Therefore 'zero industrial tariff' should occupy one line in the landed-cost sheet; it should never be translated into 'tax free' or 'no customs process'.

08

Keep carrier clearance fees separate from government charges

In postal and courier traffic, the transporter submits the customs declaration. FOCBS calculates government duty and import VAT from that declaration, while the transporter charges for its own customs-clearance work. FOCBS explicitly says these carrier charges vary by company and that the authority does not control them. A parcel with little or no state tax can therefore still have a carrier service charge under the route's terms.

Before dispatch, read the carrier's current import-fee schedule and ask who is the importer of record, how missing documents are handled and how charges are collected. After clearance, retain the carrier statement, declaration number and access code. Swiss guidance says the access code can be used to retrieve an electronic assessment decision for a single consignment, giving you better evidence than a tracking label such as 'held in customs'.

09

Screen restricted goods and Swiss product requirements

FOCBS identifies restricted or prohibited categories including weapons, some medicines and narcotics, counterfeit or pirated goods, cultural property and protected animals or plants. Carrier rules can be narrower: batteries, liquids, powders, magnets, aerosols and branded goods may be refused on one route even when another route or legal import procedure exists. Platform acceptance, carrier acceptance and lawful Swiss import are three separate checks.

SECO's technical-regulation portal says the party placing a product on the Swiss market is responsible for conformity and that products may be subject to surveillance. Requirements differ for food, cosmetics, toys, personal protective equipment, electrical or radio products, watches and other sectors. Switzerland is not an EU member, so do not copy an EU guide and assume every CE rule or document works identically. Check the Swiss authority and exact product category before paying.

10

Track the parcel and judge public reviews cautiously

Save the listing capture, invoice, payment record, QC files, parcel declaration, live route terms and dispatch identifier. Tracking can pause between export, line-haul, customs handoff and local delivery; a quiet scan is not by itself proof of loss or seizure. Contact the platform about warehouse or dispatch records, and the carrier about customs clearance, payment requests and last-mile events. Photograph the sealed delivery before opening and record any damage in one continuous evidence set.

No Switzerland-specific customer-review claim was used in this guide. The US App Store showed only five ratings and two identifiable comments when researched. One reviewer reported a personal delivery time without a stated destination or shipment documents; another criticised product discovery without documenting a transaction. Neither supplied a Swiss postcode, declaration, VAT assessment, carrier fee or final landed-cost record. Such a small, non-Swiss sample can suggest questions to test, but it cannot establish Swiss speed, reliability or customs outcomes.

A disciplined final check is simple: confirm the seller and variation, approve only what QC can show, compare routes using the packed parcel, calculate VAT from the full assessment basis, distinguish industrial duty from VAT and carrier fees, and keep the import decision. That record turns a vague checkout price into an auditable Switzerland buying decision.

Lista di controllo funzionante

✓Keep the invoice, QC files and parcel declaration
✓Retain the carrier statement and customs access code
✓Verify payment requests through the carrier's own channel
✓Photograph the delivered parcel and contents
✓Do not generalise from reviews without Swiss shipment evidence
